Così l'arte è diventata un asset (How art became an asset)

Three dates focused on the economic point of view of the art to realize how the relationship between collectors, artists and market are changing and which role it could play for Italy.


Microsoft, J.P. Morgan, Coca Cola, Deutsche Bank, Simmons & Simmons, Banca Intesa, Unicredit group, Prada, Trussardi, Alessi. The list of big investors in contemporary artworks is very long. Considering the financial roller-coaster situation, art is always an alternative asset class also for its economic perfomances exempt from inflation: in the last 50 years investing in art has made 10.5% per year on the average and, in 2011 alone, the auction houses sold 41,000 contemporary artworks earning more than 1 billion dollars.
